About the role

Bathurst Regional Council is seeking to employ 2x Water Filtration Plant Operators within the Water and Waste section of Councils Engineering Services Department. The successful applicants will be enthusiastic, self-motivated and able to work alone and in a team environment carrying out a variety of tasks in order to satisfy the requirements of the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines.

The Water Filtration Plant Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining Council's water filtration plant and bulk water infrastructure in Bathurst as part of a team. The successful applicant will also be required to carry out dam surveillance tasks and be on call in rotation with other staff.

Candidates require a sound knowledge in production and or maintenance of complex plant and equipment. A qualification in water treatment, chemical dosing or dam ranging will be highly regarded. 

Key Requirements

  • Current Class C Drivers Licence 
  • Sound knowledge in production and/or maintenance of complex plant and equipment.
  • Ability to work alone and in a team environment 
  • Chemical dosing experience 
  • General Construction Induction (White Card) 
  • Must be able to swim 
  • Ability to work on-call and overtime including weekends, on a regular basis.

These positions require a pre employment health assessment which includes a functional, audio and drug & alcohol screen. Shortlisted applicants will also be required to undertake psychometric testing prior to appointment. 

Salary: $1,155.40 to $1,213.83 per week + Adverse Working Conditions Allowance of $18.92 per week + super.
