About the role
Bathurst Regional Council is currently seeking a Labourer - Water Operations and Maintenance to join the Water & Waste Section of Council's Engineering Department.
As the Water Services Labourer you will be responsible for supporting the Water Service Operator to efficiently, effectively and safely carry out all works as directed. You will conduct maintenance and improvements of Council's Water Reticulation System and carry out labouring duties across other areas of the Water Section as required.
Key Requirements
- Current NSW Class C Driver's Licence
- General Construction for Induction (White Card)
- Knowledge of pipe laying for water applications
- Experience in the utilisation of small plant used in the construction industry
- Proven ability to work effectively as a team member
- Logical thinking skills
- Adequate numeracy & literacy skills to fulfil the requirements of the position
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, requiring considerable amounts of labouring work
- Ability to work overtime and on call (including weekends) as required.

This position requires a pre employment health assessment which includes a functional, audio and drug & alcohol screen.
Salary: $980.20 to $1,029.86 per week + Adverse working conditions allowance of $18.92 per week + On call allowance (as required) + Super
Position Status: Permanent full time
Hours of work: 38 hours per week with an RDO every third week
