What is required? 

Environmental Health Officer (Specialist Food) to provide high level expertise to support the Health and Environment team to effectively provide environmental health services to Council, particularly with regard to inspection of food premises. VIEW POSITION DESCRIPTION

3-4 day per week; 8.30am-4.00pm

Approx. 2-3 months with option for extension

Candidate specifics:

Essential

• Behaviour that positively demonstrates Council’s values of:  creative, accessible, respect, energetic and safe.
• Tertiary qualifications in Public Health or related discipline.
• Class C drivers licence.
• Demonstrated experience in delivering specialist environmental health services.
• Demonstrated experience in preparation and presentation of environmental health reports and submissions
• Demonstrated professional knowledge of public environmental health and related legislation including Public Health Act 1991, NSW Food Act 2010 and Regulations and The Food Standards Code.

Desirable

• Local Government experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Local Government Act as it applies to food and Public health services.

Grade 14-16 depending on level of experience
