What is required? 

Environmental Health Officer (Food Specialist) To provide high-level expertise to support the Health and Environment team in delivering environmental health services to Council, with a particular focus on the inspection of food and commercial premises.

The role requires recent experience in a similar position, with the ability to take on responsibilities and contribute effectively within a short timeframe. It may also suit individuals looking to re-enter the workforce following a career change, or those seeking flexibility, such as reduced hours or a change in professional direction.

3-4 day per week; 8.30am-4.00pm, Flexible for right candidate

Candidate specifics:

Essential

• Behaviour that positively demonstrates Council’s values of:  creative, accessible, respect, energetic and safe.
• Tertiary qualifications in Public Health or related discipline.
• Class C drivers licence.
• Demonstrated experience in delivering specialist environmental health services.
• Demonstrated experience in preparation and presentation of environmental health reports and submissions
• Demonstrated professional knowledge of public environmental health and related legislation including Public Health Act 1991, NSW Food Act 2010 and Regulations and The Food Standards Code.

Desirable

• Local Government experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Local Government Act as it applies to food and Public health services.
