The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a forward thinking individual to investigate, scope and plan the strategic direction and development of a program of long-term infrastructure projects that seek to reduce the hazard exposure and vulnerability of key infrastructure assets in the Bega Valley in accordance with the Preparing Australian Communities Grant Program.

As a Resilience Planning Engineer, you will lead a strategic planning activity focused on increased resilience of Council owned infrastructure to natural disasters and climatic change. You will undertake technical assessments of the key projects identified deemed essential to the future resilience and preparedness of the Bega Valley Shire as well as maintain project documentation in accordance with the BVSC Project Management Reporting Framework and developed Project Management Plan.

About You

We are seeking an individual who holds a Degree in an Engineering, Resilience or Management discipline appropriate to the position and has five (5) years' demonstrated experience in project, consultant and contractor management.

You will have the following skills and experience;

  • Demonstrated knowledge of planning and design of resilient infrastructure.
  • Sound understanding of contract management principals including risk management, WHS and EEO, and the ability to manage relationships with contractors and professional consultants to achieve results.
  • Well-developed skills in the interpretation of details engineering plans, specifications and quality systems.
  • Demonstrated ability in the use of Microsoft Office software, MS project planning software and spatial information software.
  • Five (5) years' demonstrated knowledge and experience in planning and delivery of civil works projects.

This is a grant funded fixed term full-time position working 35 hours per week for a period of three (3) years. Remuneration is $1810.40 per week, plus 10.5% employer superannuation contribution.
