The Opportunities

We have multiple opportunities for motivated and enthusiastic individuals to prepare, teach and promote swimming lessons at BVSC pools.  

As a Swimming Instructor, you will instruct swimming and water safety programs as well as structure programs and times in conjunction with the Program Supervisor. You will participate in the planning and development of swimming and water safety programs.

About You

We are seeking individuals who hold a Swimming & Water Safety Teacher Qualification (SISSS00112) and have a current NSW Working with Children check.

You will have the following skills and experience;

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to relate positively to children, parents and staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to program changes including class times, type and group size.
  • Proven understanding of the principles of teaching children in an aquatic environment.
  • Appropriate level of physical fitness to carry out the duties required.

Benefits

These are casual positions working varying hours and can work across a number of facilities in the Bega Valley.

The hourly remuneration package for this position commences at $37.24 gross per hour, comprising of:

  • $26.84 per hour base salary 
  • $6.71 per hour casual loading (calculated at 25%)
  • $3.69 per hour superannuation (calculated at 11%)

Applicants under the age of 18 years shall be paid in accordance with Part A Clause 32 B of the Local Government (State) Award 2023. Salary commencement is in accordance with age:

  • 15 years - $16.51 gross per hour
    • $11.90 per hour base salary
    • $2.96 per hour casual loading (calculated at 25%)
    • $1.64 per hour superannuation (calculated at 11%)
  • 16 years - $20.61 gross per hour
    • $14.85 per hour base salary
    • $3.71 per hour casual loading (calculated at 25%)
    • $2.04 per hour superannuation (calculated at 11%)
  • 17 years - $24.24 gross per hour
    • $17.47 per hour base salary
    • $4.37 per hour casual loading (calculated at 25%)
    • $2.40 per hour superannuation (calculated at 11%)
