The Opportunity

We have an opportunity for a skilled and motivated individual to operate, control, and report on the performance of water and sewage treatment plants, including environmental monitoring to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Strategic Business Plan objectives. 

As Treatment Plant Operator you will undertake sewage treatment and water treatment operations including minor maintenance activities.  You will also assist with the development and implementation of techniques and methods of process control which increase plant performance and efficiency. As part of a highly effective team, you will provide input to preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for submission to the Manager Water and Sewerage Services.

About You

We are seeking an enthusiastic and hard working individual who has skills relevant to the position (eg. plumbing trade or similar) and thrives working in a team environment. Desirably, you will hold a Certificate III in Water Industry Operations (NWP30215) or be willing to obtain the qualification through your employment. A strong interest in learning and relevant work experience within the water and sewer industry is preferred.

You will have the following skills and experience;

  • Ability to operate minor plant including lifting equipment (less than three tonne).
  • Well-developed written, verbal and computer literacy skills including skills in the interpretation of engineering plans, specifications and quality systems.
  • An understanding of water quality matters including an understanding of Australian Drinking Water Guidelines (ADWG) and NSW EPA regulatory requirements.

Benefits

This is a permanent full time position working 38 hours per week.

The total remuneration package for this position commences at $71,878.56 gross per annum, comprising of:

  • $1245.30 per week base salary
  • $136.98 per week superannuation (calculated at 11%)
