The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual to assist with procurement and delivery of projects for Council's assets at all points of the project lifecycle from detailed planning to delivery and commissioning, including representing BVSC in the management of consultants, contractors and community. Specifically this position will fulfil upcoming projects such as the Cobargo Semi-Automated Waste Disposal System and the Merimbula Waste and Recycling Centre Upgrade.

As a Waste Project Manager, you will lead the development and implementation of projects to manage waste disposal and divert waste from landfill as well as prepare briefs and tender documentation. You will check design plans and reports prepared for projects and seek further input from internal and external stakeholders on an as-needed basis. It is essential that you are adaptable as your roles and responsibilities may vary dependant on the projects you are undertaking.

The opportunity available will be dependant on the applicants qualifications, skills and experience. As such you may be appointed to an entry level Project Manager role or an experienced Project Manager role.

About You

We are seeking an individual who holds either a tertiary qualification in a project management/engineering discipline appropriate to the position or other relevant field; or a Diploma level qualification in Project Management or a related discipline, and 3-5 years experience delivering low to medium value projects and/or works. We also require a current NSW Class C Drivers Licence.

You will have the following skills and experience;

  • Experience delivering works across the project lifecycle.
  • Sound understanding of contract management principals including risk management, WHS and EEO. Ability to manage relationships with contractors and professional consultants in order to achieve results.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with, and engaging the community as key stakeholders.
  • Well-developed skills in the interpretation of detailed engineering plans, specifications and quality systems.

Benefits

This is a fixed term full time position working 35 hours per week for a period of three (3) years.

Depending on your demonstrated skills, experience and qualifications the total remuneration package for this position is between $97,656.52 and $109,200.52 gross per annum, comprising of:

  • Between $1,691.90 and $1,891.90 per week base salary
  • Between $186.11 and $208.11 per week superannuation (calculated at 11%)
  • Depending on the duties and responsibilities being undertaken, the positions may be entitled to Civil Liability Allowance (calculated at 3.5%)
