Expression of Interest
Council is currently seeking expressions of interest for casual Works Team Members. This opportunity will enable you to carry out general labouring and/or plant operation for the primary purpose of maintaining BVSC assets and associated infrastructure.
As a casual Works Team Member you will perform general labouring duties necessary to carry out minor construction, maintenance and cleaning, and assess faults to determine the scope and type of repairs. You will perform specified routine and corrective maintenance on plant and equipment used and maintain in a clean and tidy condition.

About You
We are seeking individuals who hold their general Construction Induction Card (White Card) and have experience in tasks associated with general labouring including (but not limited to); cleaning, minor construction works which may include concreting, carpentry, excavation, paving, fencing and landscape maintenance activities.
You will have the following skills and experience;
- Basic ability to read plans and schedules.
- Developed skills in the operation and maintenance of various hand and power tools and specialised equipment e.g. jackhammers, whipper snippers and mowers.
- Understanding of the operation of heavy vehicles, heavy and minor plant items.
- Demonstrated experience in a specified field; mechanic, boilermaker, plant operator, labourer and/or heavy vehicle driver.
Benefits
This recruitment is to establish a casual pool for the Works Teams. The positions will be engaged on an as-needed basis and may work varying hours. There is no guarantee of employment.
The total hourly remuneration package for these positions commences from $40.06 - $50.59* gross per hour (inclusive of superannuation and casual loading), comprising of:
- $28.61 - 36.13* per hour base salary
- $7.16 - $9.04* per hour casual loading
- $4.29 - $5.42* per hour superannuation (calculated at 12%)
