The Opportunity
We have an opportunity for a motivated individual to provide support to Fleet Facilities by carrying out maintenance and repairs to Council and RFS fleet.
The qualification you will attain at the end of your apprenticeship will be a Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology.
As an Apprentice Mechanic, you will under direct guidance and supervision, perform preventative maintenance and repairs to Council and Rural Fire Service plant, vehicles and equipment whist in the workshop or in the field. You will also liaise with Workshop logistics regarding parts required for the servicing and repairs of Council and Rural Fire Service plant, vehicles and equipment.

About You
We are seeking an individual who has a minimum Year 10 RoSA and has their Class C drivers’ licence (or the ability to gain).
You will have the following skills and experience;
- Work in a manner consistent with BVSC organisational values and associated behaviours.
- Basic skills and an understanding of mechanical maintenance and repair duties.
- Competent computer skills.
Benefits
This is a grant-funded fixed-term, full time position working 38 hours per week for a period of four (4) years.
The total remuneration package for this position commences from $28,071.68 to $48,187.78 gross per annum, comprising of:
- $482.00 to $827.40 per week base salary
- $57.84 to $99.29 per week superannuation (calculated at 12%)
Remuneration for this position is dependent upon the age and level of schooling achieved by the successful candidate.
