The Opportunity

We have an opportunity for a proactive and experienced individual to coordinate the effective management of Council-owned and managed land and property, including leasing, licensing and land transactions, while providing specialist advice on property-related legislative and legal matters and supervising the Property and Legal Officer to ensure delivery of compliant, efficient and customer-focused property services.
As a Property and Legal Coordinator, you will coordinate and administer Council's property and legal functions, oversee leasing and licensing arrangements, and manage property transactions to ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements. You will also provide specialist advice on property-related legislative, contractual and risk matters, prepare high-quality reports, and liaise with government agencies, solicitors and other stakeholders on land and property matters.

About You

We are seeking an individual who holds a degree-level qualification relevant to the position and a Native Title Manager qualification.

You will have the following skills and experience;

  • Experience, understanding and the ability to interpret legislation, particularly the Native Title Act and relevant provisions within the Local Government Act / Regulation and Crown Land Management Act/Regulation. 
  • Understanding of local government operations and the implications of these activities to the use and management of community and Crown land owned and managed by BVSC.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and respond to third-party information requests in a professional, accurate, and timely manner, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and organisational protocols.
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills including demonstrated ability to positively influence, persuade and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders. 

Benefits

This is a permanent, full-time position working 35 hours per week.

The total remuneration package for this position commences at $109,240.77 gross per annum, comprising of:

  • $1,875.70 per week base salary
  • $225.08 per week superannuation (calculated at 12%)
