The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to assess the impact of development on BVSC’s public infrastructure by ensuring infrastructure and assets are designed, approved and constructed in accordance with required standards.
As Senior Development Engineer, you will provide technical engineering advice to planning and building assessment staff and ensure compliance of submitted plans for development construction work. You will provide advice on compliance with conditions of consent and provide final approval for issue of certificates.

About You
We are seeking an individual who holds a Degree-level qualification in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) and has a minimum of five (5) years’ relevant related experience (indicative).
You will have the following skills and experience;
- High level of verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation skills.
- High-level skills in both urban and rural subdivision design including water, sewer, stormwater and pavement designs.
- Advanced understanding and working knowledge of legislation relating to engineering aspects of planning laws, related Local Government law, survey practice and Council policies.
- Comprehensive knowledge with aspects of the Real Property Act, the Strata Titles Act and the Conveyancing Act.
Benefits
This is a fixed term, full time position working 35 hours per week for a period of three (3) years.
The total remuneration package for this position commences at $125.975.85 gross per annum, comprising of:
- $2,097.50 per week base salary
- $251.70 per week superannuation (calculated at 12%)
- $73.41 per week Civil Liability Allowance (calculated at 3.5%)
