Marist College Ashgrove is a Catholic day and boarding school for boys in Years 5-12, situated in Brisbane's inner Northern suburbs. The College has a vacancy for a Careers Counsellor, for an immediate start. This is a full-time, fixed-term position for Semester 2, 2022. The position works under the immediate supervision of the Head of VET and Careers and would work within the Career Information Centre.

This is a teaching position and will have the equivalent load of one class and co-ordination of the Workplace Skills Course. The successful applicant will be integral in the design and implementation of a Careers Program tailored to the College needs.  The position provides Career advice to students on an individual, small group and whole class basis.  In your letter of application please ensure you identify your teaching areas.

The ideal applicant will have

  • Current Teaching Qualifications;
  • Relevant Qualifications in Careers;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Recent, relevant experience in an educational context, including an understanding of the SETP requirements;
  • Experience in the design and implementation of a careers program;
  • Demonstrated capacity to work as a member of a team.
