Gateways is proud to announce it is inviting applications from passionate and dedicated Therapeutic Residential Support Workers in Geelong. This is a rare opportunity to join our expanding team within our Child and Youth Services Program.
We are seeking Therapeutic Residential support workers for a Part Time, 28.75 hours per fortnight opportunity to support children with a disability living in out of home care.
What you will need
- A passion for supporting people to live their best lives
- Highly developed problem solving skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- A current Victorian Drivers License
- Working with Children Check (Or willing to obtain one)
- NDIS Workers Screening Check (Or willing to obtain one)
- Hold a current First Aid and CPR Certificate (Or willing to obtain one)
To be successful for this position, applicants must be qualified to or be willing to enrolled into a Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (Residential and out of home care). Successful applicants will be enrolled by the Program Manager at Gateways.

Employment is dependent upon evidence of your application for the NDIS Screening Check (mandatory from 1st Feb 2021). Visit: https://www.vic.gov.au/ndis-worker-screening-check
You will be required to apply for an NDIS Worker Screening Check. This check includes a national criminal records check, and will cost you $121.10. The check is valid for 5 years.
Staff will need to be fully vaccinated by 26 November 2021. Limited medical exemptions and proof-of-booking exceptions will apply.
Successful applicants will be required to supply a current Working with Children check for an employee. If you have lived outside of Australia for more than 12 months in the last 10 years, you will be required to supply an international police check from the country where you lived. Employment cannot commence until this check is received and assessed.
Shortlisted applicants will also be required to undertake the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission online Worker Orientation training module called ‘Quality, Safety and You’ prior to attending induction. This is a pre-employment requirement and if not completed, employment will not proceed.
