About the Role - Finance Business Partner

The Finance Business Partner provides real-time support and detailed financial analysis, being a trusted advisor and adding value to assist in operational and strategic decision-making. Critical to the role is the ability to communicate, understand the programs, and deliver the information in a clear and user-friendly manner. 

The hourly rate for this position will be between $50.34 and 53.84 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance with the timely and accurate preparation of monthly management reports, forecasting, budgeting, and detailed cost analysis for the programs
  • Preparation and presentation of high-quality, timely monthly management reports for programs. This includes insightful analysis of performance against the operating budget and ensuring the monthly reporting deadlines are met
  • Preparation of annual operating cost budgets for programs
  • Preparation of financial anaylsis and financial models for tenders and funding submissions
  • Provision of financial advice and support to managers

What we're looking for:

Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting, commerce, or an equivalent related discipline.
  • Experience in a management accounting/business partnering role, including budgeting, forecasting, monthly reporting, and variance analysis.
  • Sound understanding of commercial business practices and principles, including a proven ability to influence commercial outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a deadline-driven workplace and to effectively manage challenges and changing priorities whilst still meeting team and agency deadlines.
  • Proven high-level analytical skills, including a high level of proficiency with MS Excel and computer-based financial systems.

Skills

  • Commitment to and a willingness and ability to promote and apply the mission and values of CatholicCare.
  • Demonstrated ability to reflect on feedback from others, use it as an opportunity to learn, and take appropriate action.

Desirable

  • Have commenced studies for (or obtained) CPA or CA designation.
  • Experience in the use of TechnologyOne.
  • Experience in Power-BI systems.
  • Previous experience in a not-for-profit or community sector organisation.
  • Unencumbered driver’s license.
