About The Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Specialist to join our Quality & Risk team. This new part-time role will focus on ensuring the agency's services exceed excellence around quality, risk and compliance. Acting as a critical link between service delivery and governance functions, the role will assist in delivering clinical expertise and will work with program leads and their teams to identify trends in their data and prioritise corrective action areas where required.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and monitor clinical and practice governance frameworks to ensure safe, high-quality service delivery
- Conduct internal audits and service reviews to assess compliance with Quality & Risk standards and best practices
- Provide expert advice on quality and governance issues to operations, executives and sub-committees of the board
- Lead continuous quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for service enhancement and risk mitigation
- Provide expert guidance and support to operational teams in managing complex complaints and incidents
- Develop and deliver training programs on clinical governance, risk management, complaints handling and quality improvement
What You Will Need
The idea candidate will have previous experience working in a similar role within one of the areas of discipline (aged care, disability, child and family services). They will need to be able to identify, assess and mitigate risks across the agency as well as ensuring regulatory compliance, and operational processes to support risk management. The role will also need to have strong knowledge in clinical governance and quality assurance principles.
Key Selection Criteria
- Tertiary qualifications in a clinical discipline or a related field (including but not limited to an AHPRA registration)
- Experience in delivering clinical/practice care
- Experience in developing and delivery of training sessions to internal and external stakeholders
- Strong understanding of clinical governance frameworks, quality standards and best practice across one of more of the service areas (aged care, disability, child and family services)
- Strong working knowledge of relevant legislation, standards and accreditation frameworks
- Ability to design and deliver training sessions on quality, governance and risk management to operational teams, executive leadership and sub-committees
