Do you have a genuine passion for supporting people to live independently? Join CatholicCare Wollongong as a Community Support Worker, where you'll build meaningful relationships with aged care and NDIS participants right in their own homes and community.

We are recruiting Community Support Workers to deliver personal care, domestic assistance, medication support, and social and respite services across the Illawarra region. Permanent part-time positions are available with flexibility to suit your work-life balance.

  • Pay rate: $31.13 – $34.59/hour (depending on experience and qualifications) + travel time between clients + KM reimbursement + NFP Salary Packaging
  • Hours: Permanent part-time — flexible days and hours
  • Position type: Permanent
  • Location: Illawarra region

What you'll be doing

  • Provide personal care and grooming support tailored to individual participant needs
  • Assist with domestic tasks including light cleaning, meal preparation, and shopping
  • Support accurate medication administration as prescribed by a medical professional
  • Provide social support and respite within participants' homes and communities
  • Document participant wellbeing and report any significant changes to the care team

What we're looking for

Essential

  • Certificate III in Individual Support, Aged Care, Disability or equivalent — completed or working towards (fee-free course options may be available)
  • Genuine commitment to supporting people with a disability and/or who are ageing
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Current NSW Driver's Licence and access to a reliable, insured vehicle

Checks required (or willingness to obtain)

  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Working with Children Check
  • National Criminal History Check

Desirable (highly regarded)

  • Experience providing support in aged care or disability settings
  • Experience working with people from CALD backgrounds
  • Fluency in a language other than English
