Role Overview:

As the Team Leader of ECEC Services in the Illawarra Region, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations and management of the OSHC & ELC programs, ensuring compliance with National Quality Framework (NQF) and regulatory requirements. You will lead a team of dedicated educators to deliver high-quality care and educational programs that align with the needs and interests of the children and the expectations of their families.

This is a permanent full-time position based in the Illawarra area, working 38 hours per week.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Management: Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of OSHC/ELC programs, ensuring they are creative, stimulating, and educational.
  • Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and manage a team of educators, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure all programs meet NQF standards, adhere to relevant state regulations, and uphold the organisation’s policies and procedures.
  • Child Safety & Wellbeing: Maintain a safe and supportive environment for children, prioritising their wellbeing and safety at all times.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with families, school communities, and relevant stakeholders to ensure the program is responsive to community needs.
  • Financial Management: Manage the services budget, oversee enrolments, and maintain accurate records in line with financial policies.
  • Continuous Improvement: Regularly review and update practices to enhance service quality and performance.

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Qualifications:
    • Diploma or higher qualification in Children’s Services, Education, or equivalent.
    • Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) and First Aid, Anaphylaxis & Asthma Management Certificates.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar leadership role within OSHC or early childhood services.
    • Proven experience managing teams and developing educational programs.
  • Knowledge & Skills:
    • Strong understanding of the NQF, My Time, Our Place Framework, and state-based regulations.
    • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
    • Financial management experience is highly desirable.
