The Opportunity

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Corporate Communications Specialist to join our Government and Corporate Relations team based in Gladstone.

 

This pivotal role will focus on delivering strategic internal communication initiatives and building meaningful engagement with our communities. You’ll play a key part in enhancing GPC’s corporate reputation by implementing effective communication and engagement strategies that connect, inspire, and inform both employees and external stakeholders.

 

As a valued member of the Gladstone community, you will work closely with local stakeholders to ensure open, two-way communication and alignment with GPC’s strategic objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement internal communication strategies aligned with GPC’s corporate goals
  • Create and manage compelling content across multiple internal communication channels
  • Lead employee engagement initiatives to cultivate a positive and inclusive workplace culture
  • Measure communication effectiveness and adapt strategies based on feedback
  • Ensure consistent messaging aligned with GPC’s brand and external communications
  • Support change management communication to guide employees through organisational transitions
  • Build and maintain genuine two-way communication with the community
  • Provide guidance and mentorship within the internal communications team

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Public Relations, or related field (mandatory)
  • Proven leadership experience supporting and mentoring teams to achieve communication excellence
  • Advanced skills in strategic communication, including digital platforms (EDM, intranets, websites)
  • Strong community engagement experience and ability to design impactful consultation strategies
  • Exceptional project and event management skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Commitment to health, safety, and the GPC values of respect, integrity, innovation, and collaboration
