About the Role

The Office of CEO is seeking applications from suitably experienced candidates for the temporary position of Audit, Assurance and Continuous Improvement (AACI) Officer to undertake internal audits and assurance of GPC practices as part of a cycle of continuous improvement. This temporary role is for a period of 18 months.

Reporting to the Audit, Assurance and Continuous Improvement Lead and working in a dedicated team, you will be accountable for the reviewing, examining, investigating, analysing and assessing GPC governance documents, management systems, frameworks, processes, and compliance practices in order to identify strengths and opportunities for improvement, with the focus on continuous improvement through innovation to enhance productivity and business performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The highest level of ethical standard, values, and integrity in all activities;
  • Maintain strict confidentiality, professionalism and impartiality;
  • Plan and develop strategies for conducting audits and assurance practices at GPC;
  • Manage and lead whole of business audits and investigations to inform current state practice and to determine whether business activities are conducted within GPC and Government Policy;
  • Prepare and deliver audit plans, reports and briefings to the CEO;
  • Collaborate with department leads to oversee the implementation of audit and assurance findings.

Mandatory requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent level of experience;
  • Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Risk Management Assurance or equivalent level of experience; or
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of GPC’s business goals and objectives, or ability to ascertain competently;
  • C Class drivers licence;
  • Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) or ability to obtain.
