About the role
We're looking for a values-driven leader to join GPC in this pivotal role, where you'll champion transparency, ethical conduct, and genuine engagement with stakeholders at all levels. Based within the Office of the CEO, you’ll guide our corporate affairs strategy and help shape the future of our port development. You’ll work closely with Directors, Leaders, and Employees to align communications and initiatives with GPC’s strategic goals. Your leadership will strengthen relationships across government, industry, and the community—delivering clear, effective communication and fostering trust both internally and externally. If you’re passionate about purpose-led leadership and making a real difference, your next opportunity starts here.
Key responsibilities:
- Build trusted government and stakeholder partnerships – Lead engagement with key external partners, managing briefings, requests, and critical documentation to support effective communication and decision-making.
- Drive strategic communications and brand leadership – Oversee media, internal and external communications, corporate reporting, and our digital presence while ensuring consistency across major projects and initiatives.
- Champion community, cultural and Indigenous engagement – Lead meaningful partnerships with First Nations and Australian South Sea Islander communities and guide the delivery of our Reconciliation Action Plan and cultural awareness programs.
- Lead with purpose and people at heart – Foster an inclusive, high-performing team culture where everyone feels valued and connected to GPC’s purpose. Promote a safe, respectful workplace, support team accountability, and oversee functional performance through clear goals, reporting, and strong financial management.
About you:
You’re a values-driven leader with senior experience in complex, technical environments—bringing clarity, confidence, and heart to all you do. You’ve led high-performing teams across communications, engagement, and corporate affairs, including brand, crisis response, and media. With strong experience in government and public affairs, you understand State and Federal processes and build trusted, cross-sector relationships. You’ve delivered meaningful community programs and events, and cultural inclusion is central to your approach. You’ve led Reconciliation Action Plans to best-practice standards, with working knowledge of Indigenous Land Use Agreements and a deep respect for First Nations and Australian South Sea Islander cultures.
A clear communicator and natural collaborator, you thrive in leadership teams and unite others around a shared purpose. If you're ready to lead with purpose and impact, we’d love to hear from you.
