Employment Status: Permanent Full-Time
Teacher Salary Range: $84,077 - $123,101 (pending experience)

*Mid-year graduates for 2026 are also encouraged to apply. Mid-year graduate scholarships will be based on an individual timeline in line with your conferral date.
Catholic Education - Diocese of Rockhampton serves communities from Bundaberg in the south to Mackay in the north and west to Longreach at 17 locations across Central Queensland. We invite you to join our culture of care and be welcomed, valued and inspired by our schools' communities.
Each year Catholic Education in the Diocese of Rockhampton appoints a number of graduate teachers to Catholic Kindergartens, Primary Schools and Colleges commencing at the start of each year. Our Graduate Scholarship Program offers financial incentive, mentoring and support, early offer of appointment and employment certainty through permanency.
Scholarship Timeframes
Early offer of permanency for successful Scholarship applicants will occur in June 2025.
Initial payment of $500 will be paid in your first pay.
Formal offers of employment including advice of school placement are provided in September 2025.

2026 Graduate Primary Teacher Scholarship
Scholarship Opportunity
Our Scholarship has been designed with the following incentives:
- FINANCIAL - $6500* ($500 initial payment to be paid in your first pay; $3000 at end of 1st and 2nd year) + Location incentives (IPRASS payments and ITAS Allowance)
- LOCATION BENEFITS - Accommodation and Travel Expenses (Subsided housing and $1000 travel subsidy per year subject to appointment location)
- EMPLOYMENT - Permanency on Appointment
- PLAN YOUR LIFE - Receive an early offer of employment in June 2025 (at a school to be advised once Staffing is finalised)
- PRIORITY TRANSFER - We recognise commitment of remote service. Priority transfers are available to you after completion of at least 2 years service in a remote location to your preferred region.
- HECS DEBT WAIVER - You have the opportunity to become eligible to have your HECS Debt waived under the government initiative (pending completion of eligibility requirements and subject to location appointment - available at Longreach, Barcaldine and Blackall)
- INDIVIDUALISED MENTORING - with your school and the Consultant: Teacher Growth and Development to set you up for success.
Eligibility Criteria
- Be due to graduate and confer in 2025 and be able to obtain provisional QCT Registration prior to the commencement of the 2026 School Year. *Please note these timeframes do not apply to mid-year graduates in 2026 and are in line with conferral dates.
- Accept a teaching position anywhere within Catholic Education - Diocese of Rockhampton. Please note a key condition of applying for this scholarship is your willingness to be appointed to any of the below locations in Catholic Education - Diocese of Rockhampton.

Scholarship Conditions
- Applications are welcome from anyone who would support the Catholic ethos and mission
- Relevant tertiary qualification (or eligible to graduate in 2025 or mid-year 2026)
- Evidence of successfully passing the Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education
- Demonstrate professional knowledge, practice and engagement
- Eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
- A desire to serve the community of Central Queensland
High achieving graduates will be identified on the basis of professional experience reports, application responses and referee statements.
