Your Role
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and enthusiastic educators for the position of qualified Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) Assistant to join the staff of St Mary's Catholic Primary School, North Rockhampton. This is a casual continuing position with a part-time position of up to 10hpw available for the right applicant. This position is for for an immediate commencement or as negotiated with the successful applicant.
As an Outside School Hours Care Assistant you will play a vital role in providing an engaging experience for children during before school, after school and vacation care periods. Your responsibilities may include:
- Assist with the delivery of quality education programs underpinned by My Time, Our Place Framework
- Provide direct supervision and support to all children to participate in the program
- Contribute to creating an inviting and safe environment which supports children in their wellbeing and learning.
- Ensure the cleanliness of the areas utilised by Outside School Hours Care students and staff are maintained.
- Develop awareness of and ensuring the health and safety of the students in your care, including appropriately supervising children at all times.

Mandatory Requirements
- A current valid Blue Card under the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 (WWC Act) and valid Suitability Notice is a requirement of the position.
- A minimum Diploma in Children’s Services or equivalent (ACECQA approved qualifications) is preferred.
- Hold one of the following Child Protection competencies or willing to obtain:
- CHCPRT025—Identify and report children and young people at risk
- CHCPRT001—Identify and respond to children and young people at risk
- CHCPRT026—Support the rights and safety of children and young people
- CHCPRT002—Support the rights and safety of children and young people
- CHCECE057—Use collaborative practices to uphold child protection principles
- First Aid Certificate, CPR, Anaphylaxis & Asthma Training (ACECQA approved) or willing to obtain.
- It is a requirement of the position that the successful applicant undertake a National Crime Check (Police Check) or provide details of a Police Check that is not more than six months old.
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe manner.
