Your Role

An exciting opportunity exists to join the team at Catholic Education Office in the position of HR Officer, to commence 12 January 2026. This is a full-time continuing position for 38 hours per week. The role includes:

  • Work co-operatively with ESS staff, school leadership personnel and the CEO Leadership Team, to ensure that all employment information is processed in line with relevant industrial agreement and legislative requirements.

  • Provide accurate and detailed advice and information to relevant stakeholders on CEDR employment procedures and policies.

  • Contribute to an effective employment process, including applicant engagement and processing of appointments in line with current legislation and industry standards.

  • On behalf of the Diocesan Director prepare, draft and generate employment correspondence for CEDR staff, including but not limited to, letters of acknowledgement for applications for leave, resignations and other correspondence as required.

  • Provide accurate and timely advice in relation to leave entitlements, ensuring that leave applications are within set guidelines.

  • Facilitate effective communication with Principals, school staff and CEDR personnel on staffing, leave and employment issues, coordinating competing personnel requests and demands.

  • Provide support with the staffing conference process including correspondence for appointments and transfers, data collection and collation as required.

  • Ensure compliance of new and existing employees relating to Qld College of Teacher Registration, Working with Children Checks and other mandatory requirements.

  • Maintain up-to-date details on the Tap for Teacher relief booking system.

  • In consultation with the HR Coordinator and Talent Acquisition Coordinator, market and advertise employment vacancies utilising SCOUT Recruit and publishing software.

  • Set up of new employees on the CHRIS Payroll System.

This role would also suit a skilled administrator with strong organisational and interpersonal skills seeking to transition into Human Resources.

Mandatory Requirements

  • A current valid Blue Card under the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 (WWC Act) and valid Suitability Notice is a requirement of the position.
