Employment Status: Permanent Full-Time

Teacher Salary Range: $86,600 - $124,724 (pending experience)

Scholarship Timeframes

Early offer of permanent employment for successful Scholarship applicants will occur in June 2026.

Initial payment of $500 will be paid in your first pay.

Advice of school placement is provided from September 2026 onwards.

2027 Graduate Primary Teacher Scholarship

Scholarship Opportunity

Our Scholarship offers the following incentives:

  • FINANCIAL - $10,500* ($500 initial payment to be paid in your first pay; $5000 at end of 1st and 2nd year) + Location incentives (IPRASS payments and ITAS Allowance)
  • LOCATION BENEFITS - Accommodation and Travel Expenses (Subsided housing and $1000 travel subsidy per year subject to appointment location)
  • EMPLOYMENT - Permanency on Appointment
  • PLAN YOUR LIFE - Receive an early offer of employment in June 2026 (at a school to be advised once Staffing is finalised)
  • PRIORITY TRANSFER - We recognise commitment of rural and remote service. Priority transfers are available to you after completion of at least 2 years service in a remote location to your preferred region.
  • HELP DEBT WAIVER - You have the opportunity to become eligible to have your HELP Debt waived under the federal government initiative (pending completion of eligibility requirements and subject to location appointment - available at Longreach, Barcaldine and Blackall)
  • INDIVIDUALISED MENTORING - with your school and the Consultant: Teacher Growth and Development to set you up for success.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Be due to graduate and confer in 2026 and be able to obtain provisional QCT Registration prior to the commencement of the 2027 School Year. 
  • Accept a teaching position anywhere within Catholic Education - Diocese of Rockhampton. Please note a key condition of applying for this scholarship is your willingness to be appointed to any location in Catholic Education - Diocese of Rockhampton.

 Scholarship Conditions

  • Applications are welcome from anyone who would support the Catholic ethos and mission
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (or eligible to graduate in 2026)
  • Evidence of successfully passing the Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education 
  • Demonstrate professional knowledge, practice and engagement
  • Eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
  • A desire to serve the community of Central Queensland

High achieving graduates will be identified on the basis of professional experience reports, application responses and referee statements.
