Your Role
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and enthusiastic educators for positions as Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) Assistants to join the staff of St Francis Catholic Primary School, Tannum Sands. These are casual positions commencing as soon as possible or as negotiated with the successful applicant with opportunities during term-time and vacation care.
The ideal applicant will hold a minimum of a Diploma in Early Childhood, or be working towards. Certificate III in Early Childhood or similar may also be considered.
As an Outside School Hours Care Assistant you will play a vital role in providing an engaging experience for children during before school, after school and vacation care periods. Your responsibilities may include:
- Assist with the delivery of quality education programs underpinned by My Time, Our Place Framework
- Provide direct supervision and support to all children to participate in the program
- Contribute to creating an inviting and safe environment which supports children in their wellbeing and learning.
- Ensure the cleanliness of the areas utilised by Outside School Hours Care students and staff are maintained.
- Develop awareness of and ensuring the health and safety of the students in your care, including appropriately supervising children at all times.

Mandatory Requirements
- A current valid Blue Card under the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 (WWC Act) and valid Suitability Notice is a requirement of the position.
- An (ACECQA approved qualification) or willingness to obtain upon employment.
- First Aid Certificate, CPR, Anaphylaxis & Asthma Training (ACECQA approved) (If you do not have a First Aid Certificate, this will be arranged and funded for you on appointment).
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe manner.
- Complete the Prohibition notice declaration for prospective staff members in accordance with Section 188 of the Education and Care Services National Law.
Highly Desirable
- A Certificate III in Early Childhood and Care; Certificate III in School Based Education Support or other (ACECQA approved qualification) is preferred to support ratio requirements. Those currently studying are encouraged to review the ACECQA approved qualifications as partially complete qualifications are listed within the link.
