Marist College, Emerald is a catholic co-educational secondary college situated in the Central Highlands, three hours west of Rockhampton. The College draws students from Emerald as well as surrounding rural areas including Gindie, Springsure, the Gemfields, Clermont, Blackwater, Tieri and many rural properties and currently caters for years with an enrolment of 556 students.
About the role
An exciting opportunity exists to join the team at Marist College, in the position of Groundsperson. This position has the flexibility to be a part-time or full-time position for up to 38hpw, for an immediate commencement or as negotiated with the successful applicant. Marist College also welcome applications from applicants to join their casual relief pool.
This position involves maintaining the College gardens and grounds in a clean, tidy and attractive condition. The position also involves general maintenance duties to keep the College facilities and resources in effective working condition.
The Grounds/maintenance person will be engaged primarily in maintaining to a high standard the appearance of the grounds of the school as well as specific maintenance requests when required.

The successful applicant will have an understanding of, and a commitment to, the ethos of Catholic education. In addition, you will have excellent time management skills, and well developed interpersonal skills. Tertiary qualifications at Certificate level or equivalent knowledge, qualifications and experience, relevant to the position, may be required.

Mandatory Requirements
- A current valid Blue Card under the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 (WWC Act) and valid Suitability Notice is a requirement of the position.
- Current Driver's Licence
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe manner.
