Your Role

An exciting opportunity exists to join the team at Catholic Education Office in the position of Student Information System Help Desk Assistant, for an immediate commencement. This is a full-time continuing position for 38 hours per week. 

Typical duties include, but are not limited:

  • Building relationships with system users, technical staff, consultants and school leaders to identify and resolve issues, for example:
    • Principals, Assistant Principals and Administration staff to implement student information and enrolment system improvements in a timely and effective manner;
    • Colleagues from within the Catholic Education Office to develop and maintain systems, respond to emerging needs, improve workflows, and assist wherever help is needed; and
    • External partners (i.e., The Alpha School System (TASS), DigiStorm and CEnet) to ensure high quality service, contemporary expertise, and the best practice system implementation for CEDR schools.
  • Exercising high levels of confidentiality in all aspects of the role.
  • Being an active member of the Business Intelligence (BI) team.
  • Reporting on a regular basis, to various levels within the organisation.
  • Maximising the user experience of technology solutions in CEDR schools, to enhance the capture and management of data in a systematic manner.
  • Developing and maintaining a high-level knowledge of student information and enrolment systems to ensure reliable, dependable, accurate and timely service that supports quality decision-making.
  • Performing tasks in accordance with established procedures and guidelines, and where necessary developing and adapting existing processes and procedures to improve service delivery.
  • Engaging staff across schools and colleges through the provision of training, advice and support that continually builds capability and capacity.
  • Developing solutions to improve data recording, retention, reporting and analysis.
  • Facilitating effective communication in a way that contributes to the vision, mission and goals of CEDR.

About you

The successful applicant will have:

  • The ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • The ability to work well either individually or collaboratively as part of a team, and to accept direction and support.

  • A working knowledge of student information and enrolment systems. This is desirable but not essential.
  • A tertiary qualification at Associate Diploma/Diploma level, with appropriate experience or equivalent knowledge, qualifications and experience relevant to this role.  This is desirable but not essential.

Mandatory Requirements

  • A current valid Blue Card under the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 (WWC Act) and valid Suitability Notice is a requirement of the position.
