Gladstone Ports Corporation (GPC) is a leading Government Owned Corporation with a strong commitment to safety, sustainability, and high performance. We are currently seeking an experienced Accountant to join our Office of the Chief Financial Officer.
About the Role
Reporting to the Finance Superintendent – Tax & Accounting, this role is responsible for delivering accurate, timely and compliant financial, tax, investment and treasury accounting activities. You will support financial decision‑making across GPC by maintaining high‑quality financial systems, preparing detailed financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and legislative requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating and preparing financial records, reconciliations, journals and reporting.
- Maintaining the integrity of GPC’s financial systems, including JDE support and process improvements.
- Monitoring capital expenditure, maintaining the fixed asset register and preparing investment accounting reports.
- Preparing tax returns including BAS, FBT, Income Tax and R&D Offsets.
- Supporting internal and external audit processes.
- Conducting data analysis to provide meaningful insights for stakeholders.
- Preparing treasury reports, cash flow monitoring and statutory submissions.
About You
You are a proactive, detail‑oriented accounting professional with strong analytical capability and excellent communication skills. You build positive relationships, demonstrate sound judgement, and are committed to continuous improvement.
To be successful, you will bring:
- Bachelor of Accounting/Business/Commerce.
- CA or CPA qualification (or progress toward).
- Strong understanding of accounting standards and financial systems.
- Ability to analyse financial data and prepare clear, meaningful reports.
- Experience interpreting data to provide informed recommendations.
- High level of interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

- C Class driver licence
- Ability to obtain and retain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC)
