Central Highlands Regional Council is currently seeking an Events Officer. In this exciting role, you will support the planning and delivery of civic, external and internal events. The ideal candidate will be passionate about events, have excellent organisational, time management and customer service skills and have the ability to prioritise competing tasks and work with a diverse range of stakeholders.

In this busy role, you will support the Council by:

  • Initiating, planning and coordinating council's major civic and community events, including identifying opportunities for new events and partnerships.
  • Providing event management expertise and support to other staff organising community events. 
  • Collaborating with stakeholders, volunteers and community groups to ensure council's public image is enhanced and maintained positively.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to possess:

  • Minimum of Queensland C class drivers’ licence.
  • Demonstrated experience in event planning, coordination and reporting, including the administration of events budgets.
  • A proven ability to use initiative and project manage programs. 
  • Excellent time management, communication and organisational skills.
  • A flexible approach to work and event delivery, often outside of normal working hours. 

This exciting position is best suited to an enthusiastic and experienced events professional, with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and a demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
