Central Highlands Regional Council is currently seeking experienced Multi Combination Driver to assist with the delivery of road construction and maintenance projects across the Central Highlands region.
In this role you are required to undertake the operation of a multi combination truck configuration and labouring duties as directed by the Supervisor, and in accordance with council policies and procedures, Queensland Transport Regulations and National Heavy Vehicle Regulator legislation.
In this busy role, you will support the organisation by:
- Ensure the safe and competent operation and maintenance of a prime mover with various trailers including gravel trailers, water trailers and floats.
- Load, haul and tip gravel from quarries to road construction and maintenance projects throughout the region. Operation of loaders and side tipper trailers (semi-trailer and road train) will be required.
- Operate water trailers (various combinations from rigid to road train) for road construction and maintenance projects throughout the region. Filling from standpipe and dams/waterways will be required.
- Operate a float to transport various items of road construction and maintenance plant and machinery between relevant sites throughout the region.
To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to possess:
- Current Queensland Multi Combination Vehicle Licence
- Statement of Attainment or Ticket for Loader or ability to obtain
- Load unload plant or ability to obtain
- General Construction Induction Card
- Willingness to work on rural job sites which will involve staying in a camp environment when required
- Demonstrated ability to operate a prime mover in a multi combination configuration, specifically in relation to gravel and water haulage.
- Ability and willingness to operate within a remote camp environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator regulations and requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to operate a prime mover with a float.
- Sound communication skills with the ability to work autonomously and within a team environment
