Central Highlands Regional Council is currently seeking an experienced Resource Recovery & Environmental Health Support Officer to join our team.

In this role you will provide high-level administration support and assistance to the Resource Recovery and Environmental Health team, including support for compliance systems, procurement and finance processes, data management, and customer service. Ensuring accuracy, professionalism, and responsiveness.

In this busy role, you will support the organisation by:

  • Provide timely and accurate high level administrative support across the Resource Recovery & Environmental Health section.
  • Contribute to internal and external reports (e.g., Queensland Health, Council quarterly statistics and performance reports).
  • Prepare agendas and take minutes for internal and external meetings.
  • Lodge environmental health applications and licences in TechOne and issue relevant permits.
  • Manage inbound queries via CRM and departmental mailboxes, taking responsibility where appropriate.
  • Liaise with external providers such as Cleanaway regarding bin requests and service issues.
  • Prepare requisitions, raise purchase orders, complete goods receipting and invoice reconciliation.
  • Support procurement activities including quote collection and tender document preparation.
  • Process and reconcile purchase card transactions.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to possess:

  • Minimum of Queensland C class provisional driver's licence.
  • Demonstrated experience and competency in a range of administrative duties, with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated competency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong knowledge of record-keeping responsibilities and with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
