Are you an experienced HR all-rounder with excellent time management and attention to detail?
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR Officer to join our amazing team at Central Highlands Regional Council!
You’ll assist the Coordinator Human Resources and broader HR team in delivering exceptional customer service and guidance to stakeholders, managing HR systems, preparing insightful reports, and providing advice on employee support. This role offers a great opportunity to grow your HR skills while making a real impact in a team that values people.
In this busy role, your will support the organisation by:

Maintaining council’s Technology One, OneCouncil system and other council systems, ensuring data is accurate, current and filed securely, and reports are delivered reports as requested.

Providing employees with advice and guidance in relation to their employment terms and conditions, administering processes to ensure employees receive entitlements are met including corporate memberships, tool allowances, flexible working arrangements, changes to terms and conditions of employment, resignations, maternity leave and other applicable entitlements.

Coordinating and overseeing the induction process for new employees.

Taking a continuous improvement approach to evaluate and enhance HR processes and the Technology One system from a people perspective, implementing improvements and ensuring a high-quality experience for internal and external stakeholders, with well-documented procedures for audit purposes.

Maintaining professional engagement with internal and external customers, delivering timely, accurate and consistent advice to support customer service excellence.

Supporting the HR team with analytics and reporting, and assisting with team projects such as position description reviews, performance appraisals, and probation reviews

Providing assistance to the Senior HR Advisors on industrial and employment related matters, and offering routine policy and procedural advice to all levels of council under the guidance of HR leadership team.
To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to possess:

Minimum of Queensland C class provisional drivers licence.

Previous experience working in a fast-paced business support role or a human resource environment.

Ability to read, interpret and apply policy, procedure and legislation. High level of diplomacy, confidentiality and customer service skills.

Well-developed written and oral communication skills.

High level of attention to detail.

Experience working within a complex information management system.

Intermediate level competence in the Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
