Are you passionate about creating vibrant, inclusive and connected communities? Central Highlands Regional Council is seeking an experienced and dynamic Coordinator Arts and Engagement to lead our community engagement, arts, culture, and heritage programs. This is your opportunity to help shape the social and cultural fabric of our region while fostering meaningful relationships with our communities.

As Coordinator Arts and Engagement, you will play a pivotal role in delivering Council’s strategic goals across community engagement, development, planning, and arts and cultural programming. You will lead a multidisciplinary team and collaborate with stakeholders to create accessible and impactful community initiatives and cultural experiences for residents and visitors alike.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading engagement and community development activities across the region

  • Delivering high-quality arts, cultural, and heritage programs and events

  • Supporting the operation of community committees and advisory groups

  • Managing grant programs and external funding applications

  • Providing strategic advice and tools to ensure best practice engagement across council

  • Supporting council’s Human and Social Recovery efforts as Deputy Chair of the Sub-Committee

To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to possess:

  • Minimum of Queensland C class provisional driver’s licence.
  • Queensland Working with Children Blue Card (or ability to obtain prior to commencement).
  • Diploma in a relevant discipline, such as arts, community engagement, community development, community planning, customer service, marketing and/or related disciplines.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in community engagement, arts, planning, or development
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Project management and budgeting experience
  • A passion for culture, creativity, and community-led change
  • The ability to work flexibly and independently across a diverse regional area
