Central Highlands Regional Council is searching for a driven, enthusiastic, and confident trainee to join our Natural Resources team. This is an opportunity to gain full time, paid work whilst working towards a Certificate III in Surface Extraction Operations. As a trainee you’ll be exposed to a range of tasks and opportunities to develop practical skills in the workplace and through a formal training process. To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to possess:
- A growth mindset and passion for learning with the ability to complete a Nationally Recognised Qualification (Certificate III in Surface Extraction Operations) within 24 months
- Sound written and oral communication skills
- Effective verbal communication skills
- A professional attitude
- A good work ethic including reliability and punctuality
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to be self-motivated
- An interest in working outdoors and operating specialised machinery
- A willingness to work hard and stay in a camp environment outside of Emerald
- Minimum entry age of 17 years and over
- Minimum of Queensland C class provisional drivers’ licence
- A General Construction Induction Card (or willingness to obtain)

To be eligible for this traineeship you must:
- Be at least 17 years of age;
- Be able to meet the citizen, residency, and Visa requirements to undertake a traineeship; and
- Not hold a qualification that is equal to or higher than the qualification in the same field as your traineeship.
