Are you an experienced plumber looking for a short term contract? 

Due to unexpected leave arrangements, Central Highlands Regional Council is currently looking for a trade qualified plumber to join the dedicated networks team on a 3 month contract.  

In this role you will use your existing trade skills and knowledge to lead a small team to proactively maintain Council’s water and wastewater infrastructure to minimise interruptions to critical services across the Central Highlands region.

Based in Emerald you will support the networks team by:  

  • Coordinating the daily plumbing activities for planned and responsive maintenance work
  • Undertaking regular inspections of water and wastewater systems to correct any defects
  • Responding to public enquiries on plumbing related issues 

To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to possess: 

  • Experience within a council environment 
  • A proactive and results drive approach to tasks 
  • QBCC Plumbers and Drainers licence 
  • Current Queensland Drivers licence 
  • General Construction White Card

This position will also require you to be part of an on call roster with applicable allowances and overtime rates. The salary package comprises of base salary $86,699.99 + $5K retention allowance + 13.75% super per annum. Fully subsidised housing will be offered to the successful applicant for the period of this contract. We also welcome secondment opportunities from other councils.
