The Region

The Central Highlands Region boasts a thriving mining and agricultural sector, with Emerald serving as the key service centre for both the region and the broader Central West. Based in Emerald, you will be located in proximity to all the region has to offer including hiking in Carnarvon Gorge, swimming in the rainbow waters of the Blackdown Tablelands, fishing at Lake Maraboon and fossicking in the Gemfields. 

The Opportunity

A rare and exciting opportunity has become available for a highly skilled Manager Resource Recovery & Environmental Health to join the Central Highlands Regional Council.  

Reporting directly to the General Manager Communities, you will lead, organise, manage and provide senior management-level direction and oversight for all activities and operations of the environment and resource recovery section of council.   

You will require excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, have demonstrated knowledge of regulatory and contractual compliance and drive change management initiatives to introduce and sustain new process that contribute to the growth and durability of the operations and outstanding service. 

We are looking for a highly motivated leader with a strong background and formal qualification in Environmental Health, Waste or Resource Recovery. To be successful, your ability to effectively collaborate with and positively influence internal and external stakeholders is paramount.
