Thinking of trying something new and expanding your experience with Council? Central Highlands Regional Council currently has a secondment opportunity for a Scheduling and Triage officer to join the infrastructure team on a 6 month secondment opportunity.
Based in Emerald, you will be responsible for coordinating community response to infrastructure maintenance operations and assist in the development of maintenance works schedules.
In this busy role, you will support the organisation by:
- Become the initial point of contact for all infrastructure related customer requests. Triage requests to ensure an effective and consistent response across the region.
- Assist, in conjunction with maintenance overseers and supervisors, in the development of a maintenance works schedule encompassing day labour and contract teams.
- Working collaboratively across the region with other Council Departments and communities and identifying potential opportunities for innovation and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of Council’s operations.
- Provide comprehensive, accurate and timely administrative support, ensuring confidentiality is maintained. Contributing to the research and compilation of documents, reports and submissions. Support the financial services of the team ensuring that current policy and procedures are followed e.g. Raising requisitions, purchase orders and credit card reconciliations etc.
- Establish a reputation for reliance and trust across the spectrum of stakeholders, including management, peers, fellow workers and the general public.
- Demonstrate diplomacy and discretion ensuring the highest level of confidentiality is maintained.
To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to possess:
- Minimum of Queensland C class provisional drivers licence.
- Experience in administration or a similar role.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (in particular; Outlook, Word and Excel).
- Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communication and interpersonal skills with a high level of diplomacy.
- High level of attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Proven ability to deliver high quality customer service to internal and external customers with an ability to evaluate customer needs and identify opportunities for service improvement.
- Experience in data integrity and records management.
