Central Highlands Regional Council is currently seeking Plant Operator Loader to join our Capella team. In this role, you will be required to undertake plant operation and labouring duties across the Central Highlands Regional Council and Main Roads road networks with particular focus on Council’s quarrying operations.
In this busy role, you will support the organisation by:
- Ensure the safe and competent operation of a Wheel Loader in accordance with Council and TMR Standards on road networks and Civil Construction/Maintenance projects/activities. Adopt best practice in relation to road maintenance and construction, including but not limited to gravel pit and stockpile operations, drainage construction and embankment works. Undertake regular maintenance checks on the Loader and/or associated plant.
- Ensure the safe and competent operation of other construction plant and machinery as required for road maintenance and construction projects.
- To actively participate in ongoing training and self-development to achieve continuous improvement for yourself and council.
- Taking reasonable care for health and safety of yourself and others, complying with reasonable instruction and co-operating with CHRC policy and procedure per ‘Duties of Worker’ contained in the Work Health and Safety Act as amended.
Additionally, this position may be required to conduct other duties as lawfully directed by the reporting manager.
To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to possess:
- Demonstrated ability to operate a Loader.
- Ability to operate within a remote camp environment
- Minimum of Queensland C class provisional drivers licence
- General Construction Induction Card
- Statement of Attainment or Ticket for Loader Operations.
