Remuneration: Stream B, Level 4: 32.66 p/hr + Superannuation

Central Highlands Regional Council is currently seeking a Salesyard Maintenance Laborer to join the team in Emerald. In this role, the Saleyards Maintenance Labourer will be responsible for assisting the Saleyards Manager in the efficient operation and maintenance of the Saleyards.
The successful applicant for this position must have the ability to work weekends and participate in an on call roster.
The option of part time hours could be considered for the successful candidate.  

In this busy role, you will support the organisation by:

  • Conducting repairs and maintenance to Saleyards infrastructure including steel fabrication, concreting, plumbing and earthmoving to ensure safe continued operations.
  • Regular washdown and dry sweep of concrete areas and selling pens. Periodic cleaning and re-gravelling of feeding and spelling pens and lanes.
  • Maintaining lawns and gardens to enhance presentation of facility. Maintain a safe and organised workshop and compound for safe and efficient operations.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to possess:

  • Minimum of Queensland C class provisional drivers’ license.
  • ACDC statement of attainment and Commercial Operators Licence (or ability to obtain).
  • Chainsaw (or ability to obtain).
  • Cut, weld and bend materials or equivalent (or ability to obtain).
  • Skid Steer statement of attainment or ticket (or ability to obtain).
