Are you an experienced Executive Assistant looking for a rewarding challenge where no two days are the same?

Central Highlands Regional Council has a rare and exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and proactive Executive Assistant to support the General Manager of Communities and lead the Communities administration team.

Your expertise and your ability to plan, coordinate and adjust to changing priorities will be highly valued. Working with us, you will provide high level support to the Communities Department by:

  • Overseeing and managing appointments, meetings and requests
  • Preparing confidential reports, meeting agendas and minutes
  • Working in collaboration with the General Manager Communities and Executive Leadership Team’s Executive Assistants to support council and its operations
  • Providing leadership and mentoring to the Administration Assistants who support you

To succeed in this position, you will need to be organised and have the ability to pivot to meet changing priorities and deadlines. In addition to providing support to an extremely busy General Manager and five Council Managers, you will also lead and provide direction to a small administrative team.

Your proactive approach and positive attitude will be highly valued. In this role you will provide high level administrative support incorporating:

  • Advanced MS Office skills and detailed orientated in order to prepare quality reports, correspondence, meeting agendas and minutes
  • Highly developed planning skills to effectively coordinate and organise meetings and functions
  • Professional communication skills to liaise with a wide range of employees and external stakeholders
  • Exceptional time management ability to tactfully reinforce deadline commitments to departmental staff.
  • Proactive management of the General Manager's email and calendar schedule
  • Providing positive leadership and mentoring to the Administration team members

To join Council in this Executive Assistant position you will need to possess:

  • Minimum of Queensland C Class provisional licence
  • Previous experience in providing executive support at senior management level.
  • Previous experience supervising staff including the ability to develop and mentor strong teams.
  • High standard of communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to deal with sensitive information with discretion and to maintain confidentiality
