Central Highlands Regional Council is currently seeking a Customer Service Officer. In this role you will be responsible for undertaking a range of operational, administrative and customer service functions in alignment with Council’s Customer Service Charter and Customer Service Strategy and Action Plan. The Customer Service Officer will provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers and promote a positive customer experience based on first point of contact principals. In addition, the position will also provide general administrative support services to the various departments within the organisation as required.
In this busy role, you will support the organisation by:
- Deliver a positive customer experience by exercising a high degree of judgment and initiative focused on first point of contact resolution. Contribute to the effective and efficient operation of Council’s customer service branches across the region in alignment with council’s Customer Service Charter, Customer Service Strategy and Action Plan and other strategic documents as required.
- Undertake financial transactions, cash handling, receipting and banking processes in accordance with established procedures.
- Accurate and efficient data input and records management using a range of Council databases and software packages.
- Provide general administrative support requiring the exercise of sound judgement, initiative, confidentiality and sensitivity in the performance of work.
- Maintain a high standard of corporate image and personal presentation.
- To actively participate in ongoing training and self-development to achieve continuous improvement for yourself and council.
- Taking reasonable care for health and safety of yourself and others, complying with reasonable instruction and co-operating with CHRC policy and procedure per ‘Duties of Worker’ contained in the Work Health and Safety Act as amended.
Additionally, this position may be required to conduct other duties as lawfully directed by the reporting manager.
Please note: Customer service standards and consistency of service is an important outcome of the Customer Service Strategy and Action Plan (2019-2021) and as such Customer Service Officers will be required to travel to and work from alternative locations throughout the region.
To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to possess:
- Minimum of Queensland C class provisional drivers licence.
- Previous or relevant experience in a similar role.
