Central Highlands Regional Council is currently seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to join the Infrastructure team in Springsure. This role involves the physical delivery and day to day management of maintenance operations on councils rural and urban road, drainage, footpath and cycle way networks.
In this busy role, you will support the organisation by:
- Supervising and leading the crew to ensure effective delivery of maintenance projects.
- Undertake inspections of rural road and drainage networks in order to prioritise planned and emergent works.
- When required manage construction activities on councils rural and urban road and drainage along with construction and maintenance activities on the road network.
- Monitor and control project budgets.
- Establish, build, and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external parties.
- Contribute to a positive, safe, and effective working environment and culture.
To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to possess:
- Minimum of Queensland C class provisional driver’s licence.
- Certificate III in Civil Construction (Road Construction and Maintenance) or equivalent and/or relevant demonstrated experience.
- Certificate IV in Civil Construction (or equivalent) or willingness and ability to obtain.
- Demonstrated experience in the supervision of a work team and plant equipment within a road construction and or maintenance environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
- Sound computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to reside and operate within a camp environment.
- Demonstrated ability to promote a safe work environment and work in a safe manner.
- Demonstrated organisational skills with the ability to problem solve in delivery of reactive and planned maintenance activities.
- Ability to operate within a remote camp environment.
