City of Newcastle (CN) is looking for passionate and enthusiastic Visitor Information Officers to provide high quality customer service at our new Visitor Information Centre.
Utilising your excellent communication skills and proven experience in tourism, marketing, sales or customer service, you’ll advocate and promote CN to visitors, providing information, stories, maps, and brochures to maximise their visitor experience.
With ad hoc hours dependent on business requirements and spread across the full week (Monday to Sunday), you will also be responsible for general administration duties, processing the sale of merchandise, maintaining the presentation of the centre, and assisting with projects, programs and activities, among other duties.

To be successful in this job you will have:
Essential
- Demonstrated experience working in a tourism, sales or customer service role.
- Retail experience and cash handling experience.
- Demonstrated exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated high degree of enthusiasm and commitment and ability to advocate and promote the city to visitors.
- Demonstrated commitment to compliance and the promotion of WH&S. A high level of oral communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of staff / community.
Desirable
- Demonstrated knowledge of the local area, including attractions and services.
- High level computer literacy.
