City of Newcastle (CN) is looking for an exceptional Digital Marketing Lead to manage CN’s day-to-day digital marketing and social media platforms and be responsible for the creation and delivery of engaging and relevant online content to enhance CN’s profile and reputation.

Reporting to the Marketing Manager you will oversee and implement the digital and social media strategy for the organisation, including maintaining and sharing analytics and campaign reporting.

In this role you will work collaboratively with the wider Communications team to provide thought leadership and ensure ongoing improvement to the organisation’s delivery of social media and online communications.

To be successful in this job you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Digital Marketing, Digital Media or a related qualification, and/or demonstrated capability through past employment experience.
  • Previous experience in a similar digital marketing role with social media, digital communications, email marketing, SEO and PPC within a professional context with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience in managing and developing online content to meet a range of organisational objectives and audience needs.
  • Proven experience delivering effective and innovative digital campaigns.
  • Solid understanding of web metrics and digital analytics, with the ability to generate, analyse and interpret data and to present recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Strong understanding of current online marketing concepts, strategy and best practice.
  • Experience in identifying communication opportunities that enhance the organisation’s reputation and build stronger connections with the community and stakeholders.
  • Experience in identifying and responding to corporate reputational risks in the online space.
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills, confidence in copywriting, proof reading and editing and proven analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to be agile and adaptable in a changing environment.
  • Be willing and able to work in a dynamic and fluid environment with the flexibility to work outside regular business hours during the evening and on weekends

 Desirable

  • Current Class C drivers’ licence.
