City of Newcastle (CN) is now seeking professional, customer-focused Casual Front of House Staff to play an integral role in delivering events at our historic Civic Theatre, supporting concerts, plays, stand-up comedy, and various other productions.
In this diverse role, no two shifts are alike. You’ll draw upon your excellent customer service and interpersonal skills to perform ushering duties, including guiding patrons to their seats, assisting patrons with special needs, monitoring for banned items, and solving any customer concerns or disputes in relation to seating.
Additionally, you’ll perform cash handling duties and ensure the smooth operation of the theatre’s bar during trading hours, including set-up, mixing and serving drinks, stock control, and closing duties/clean up at the end of your shift. Further responsibilities include ensuring the overall cleanliness of the theatre’s function area and assisting in the general security of the venue.
The essentials you’ll need:
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Able to work quickly and efficiently.
- Enjoy working with people.
- Neat personal presentation.
- An emphasis on teamwork.
- Current responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification (or willing to obtain).
- Current Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain).
Other valuable skills you may have:
- Good cash-handling skills.
- Applied usher and/or bar service experience in a fast-paced environment.
