City of Newcastle (CN) are looking for a highly organised Executive Assistant to support the Lord Mayor of City of Newcastle.

Your days will be busy and varied as you manage a diverse and high-level range of administrative duties. Utilising your skill set in senior level administration, you will deliver superior customer service, manage a wide range of issues and work on projects independently.

A key challenge in this role will be to provide high quality, professional and accurate support whilst working independently on key projects to manage a wide variety of activities in conjunction with maintaining a solid understanding and consistent implementation of CN’s policies and procedures.

The essentials you’ll need:

  • Relevant business qualifications, and/or an equivalent level of professional competence and experience in office management, business administration or related discipline.
  • Highly developed organisational and time management skills with experience in meeting deadlines, high attention to detail and dealing with conflicting and varied demands.
  • Highly developed communication and writing skills to effectively compile complex correspondence and reports including minute taking while ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Demonstrated research and analytic skills coupled with a strong ability to problem solve, negotiate and liaise with various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to exercise initiative and judgement, to demonstrate self-sufficiency, flexibility and confidentiality.
  • Ability to adapt to a changing work environment due to technological development, changes in work procedures and organisational change.
  • Class 'C' Driver's Licence

Other valuable skills you may have:

  • Demonstrated capacity to identify and participate in organisational change strategies, service delivery and policy reform.
  • Ability to understand and implement CN policies, procedures and systems relevant to the position.
  • Experience in the use of financial systems and reports used in a corporate environment.
