City of Newcastle (CN) is a leader in the use of geospatial technologies to provide better community, planning, infrastructure and environmental outcomes. This includes the use of advanced 3D city modelling, remotely piloted aerial systems (RPAS), laser scanning and geospatial maps, apps and open data.

The geospatial team provides enterprise location intelligence to CN, helping people to make better decisions using the power of location. Enabling CN staff, engaging communities and empowering stakeholders by pushing geospatial capabilities to the edge of business and beyond.
The geospatial platform is a vital tool that supports and underpins many CN business processes serving as a gateway to corporate information and providing a digital twin of the City.
What’s the focus of this position?
The Geospatial Analyst is responsible for leading the delivery of CN’s advanced 3D and web geospatial solutions and partnering with business to ensure the delivery of geospatial services. In doing this, they manage CN’s geospatial content including open data, maps and apps enabling business to access spatial information and capabilities while applying agile practices. They support digital transformation through providing direction and expertise in advanced technologies such as 3D, RPAS and digital twin.
Not only will you analyse the business needs and develop, modify or define geospatial solutions, you will also support the maintenance of CN’s foundation spatial data and work collaboratively across business to increase geospatial literacy.
