A rare opportunity is available for a Traffic Engineer to join our team. Reporting to the Traffic and Transport Manager, you will provide advice on local and strategic transport and traffic planning issues, including pedestrian, bicycle, parking, event management and road freight matters. An area of focus will be to achieve sustainable and credible balances between traffic engineering guidelines and community expectations.

This opportunity provides you with a chance to be involved in local planning and investigation projects such as Local Area Traffic Management planning and local centre upgrades, as well as implementation of the Cycling Plan, Parking Plan, and Pedestrian and Mobility Plan improvements across the city.  Interactions with major State level projects such as the Newcastle Inner City Bypass, M1 Motorway updates, Hexham upgrades, and Broadmeadow Precinct planning are also a focus through integration with the local traffic network.
