City of Newcastle (CN) is seeking an innovative and enthusiastic Curator to join our Museum Archive Libraries & Learning (MALL) service unit in this integral leadership position on a permanent, full-time basis.
Driving the operation of MALL's significant Museum Cultural Collections, this role leads the interpretation, expansion, and access provision of our extensive collections, ensuring public availability via a program of exhibitions, in-person access, digitisation and collection database development. You will manage the expansion of the collection via donations and acquisitions and be responsible for activating these collections by researching and writing original exhibitions that share stories for and about Newcastle across multiple sites.
Our Curator will undertake a significant community leadership role through the management of community and sector relationships including significant support of Fort Scratchley Historical Society promoting community engagement and access to the story of Newcastle and the development of systems and processes that provide practical benefit for community groups and partners.
